Mashuq Mushtaq Deen is a playwright, essayist, and award-winning storyteller. He is the author of Draw the Circle, winner of the Lambda Literary Award, and other full-length plays including Set Zero, Flood, The Betterment Society, The Shaking Earth, and The Telegram. His work has been produced at theaters including PlayMakers Rep, Mosaic Theatre, Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre, Kansas City Rep, Shattered Globe, and Keen Company, and has been published by Dramatists Play Service and in The Methuen Drama Book of Trans Plays. Deen’s plays have been recognized with international awards, including the International Woodward Prize and Sulthan Padamsee Prize, and nominations for the Weissberger and Venturous Fund awards.
